The seeds of FreeSource were sown early in 2016 as a weekly volunteer-produced two-page listing of job leads curated from an an open Facebook group called Who's Hiring in St. Louis City and County?, in which individuals post career opportunities from billboards, flyers, word of mouth, or elsewhere. This easily-printable digest was created for the benefit of people in search of employment who don't have regular access to the Internet and/or aren't on Facebook, and is regularly supplied to numerous social service agencies.
FreeSource as it exists today came into being as a means of broadening the scope of our initial activities to encompass a greater range of supports. To read more about our origins, take a look at our foundational prospectus.
